Terms of Service — Lend a Hand (Susu)

The short version: This is a marketing website for a product that doesn't exist yet. Joining the waitlist gets you an email when we launch — it isn't a contract, it doesn't guarantee you a place, and nothing here is financial advice.

1. Accepting these terms

By visiting this website or submitting your email address to the waitlist, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

You must be at least 18 years old to join the waitlist.

2. What this website is

This is a pre-launch marketing website for Lend a Hand (Susu), a planned platform for digital rotating savings circles. The product described here is not yet available.

Nothing on this site constitutes:

An offer to sell or provide any financial product or service
Financial, investment, tax or legal advice
A solicitation to invest in Lend a Hand Inc.
A binding commitment to deliver any specific feature

3. Joining the waitlist

Submitting your email address adds you to our launch notification list. In return we will make reasonable efforts to email you when early access opens.

Joining the waitlist does not:

Create any account, contract or financial relationship
Reserve you a guaranteed place in the product
Entitle you to any specific launch date
Oblige you to sign up or pay anything later

We may limit early access, onboard in batches, or decline to admit any person at our discretion. You can unsubscribe at any time; see our Privacy Policy.

Promotional offers

Offers advertised to waitlist members — such as a free first month — are made in good faith but may change. If we change or withdraw an offer, we will tell waitlist members by email before it takes effect.

4. We are not a bank

Please read this carefully. Lend a Hand Inc. is not a bank, credit union, or licensed deposit-taking institution. We do not accept deposits. Funds in the planned product are held in smart contracts and by licensed partner institutions, not by us. Balances are not insured by the FDIC, NCUA, FSCS, or any equivalent scheme.

Where money transmission services are required, they will be provided by licensed partners, and those partners' terms will apply in addition to ours.

Rotating savings circles carry real risk, including the risk that another participant fails to pay. The protection layers described on this site are designed to reduce that risk substantially — they cannot eliminate it.

5. Forward-looking statements

This website describes features, timelines and capabilities that are planned rather than delivered. Descriptions of smart contracts, legal agreements, penalty enforcement, payroll liens, trust scores, credit bureau reporting, bank integrations, pricing and launch dates all reflect our current intentions.

These may change based on technical constraints, regulatory requirements, partner availability or user feedback. Nothing here is a guarantee of any future feature, price or date.

6. Acceptable use

When using this site, you agree not to:

Submit an email address that is not yours, or that you are not authorised to use
Submit false, misleading or automated signups
Use bots, scrapers or automated tools against the site
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system or data
Interfere with the site's operation, including through denial-of-service attempts
Reproduce our branding or content in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation
Use the site for any unlawful purpose

We may remove any signup and block access where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

7. Intellectual property

The Lend a Hand name, logo, written content, design and code on this site are owned by Lend a Hand Inc. and protected by copyright and trademark law.

You may share links to this site freely. You may not copy, reproduce or adapt our content for commercial purposes without written permission.

The traditional practices referenced here — box hand, susu, pardner, esusu, sou-sou, tanda — are cultural heritage belonging to the communities that created and sustained them. We claim no ownership over these practices, their names, or their history.

8. Third-party services

This site uses third-party providers for hosting, form handling, fonts and possibly analytics. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their portion of the service. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party website we link to.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

This website is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any information on it is complete or current.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lend a Hand Inc. and its officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of this website — including lost profits, lost data or business interruption — even if we have been advised such damages are possible.

Our total aggregate liability arising from your use of this website will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100).

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lend a Hand Inc. from any claim, demand, loss or expense — including reasonable legal fees — arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of this website.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to this website, and remove your waitlist entry, at any time and without notice, where we reasonably believe you have breached these terms.

You may leave the waitlist at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us. Sections 7, 9, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of this website will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the Consumer Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court — except that either party may bring a claim in small claims court.

Class action waiver: You and Lend a Hand Inc. agree that any dispute will be brought individually, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.

If you are a consumer resident in the UK, EU or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection law, nothing in this section removes your right to bring proceedings in your local courts, or your right to rely on mandatory provisions of your local law.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product develops. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes affecting waitlist members will be notified by email. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
